Leadership Development
Our Ethos
Leadership for most organisations involves motivating its management and workforce to move to new places; places that are sometimes exciting, scary, uncomfortable, challenging and different. What all of these new places have in common however, is that they require effective leadership to make the case, to create the mandate for change and show how the journey can be accomplished. This creates the argument that leadership should be transformational rather than simply transactional.
Business Response views on leadership:
- Leadership is about personal rather than position power. All roles should have leadership expectations embedded within them
- Leadership behaviour is underpinned by values, beliefs and attitudes. Get these right and it is more likely that the appropriate behaviours will be displayed
-
- Widespread leadership behaviour reduces management time needed for checking, controlling, telling and generally coping
- Leadership can and should be closely linked to both the values and competencies within an organisation
